The Very Best Of MTV Unplugged 3. VARIOUS ARTISTS.

Monday, August 1, 2016. Cure Unplugged on MTV Classic today. There are two more people I knew back in the day who told my friend and I all about Unplugged and what was played, including all the songs that were not aired (and Unplugged did not yet air on MTV, so they knew all those songs as well) AND they also were able to identify the 4 songs played at T&C2. And if either of those 2 people are here, please speak up, because I would expect more people to be aware of this since this discussion has been had hundreds of times on other boards (not the discussion that it wasn't played, but why no one could get ahold of a copy of the song).

The English rock band The Cure have released thirteen studio albums, five live albums, eleven compilation albums, ten extended plays, and 37 singles on Fiction Records and Geffen Records. They have also released ten video albums and 43 music videos. Originally formed as Malice in January 1976, the band underwent several line-up changes and a name change to Easy Cure before settling on their current name, The Cure, in May 1978.

Released: 29 June 2004. Format: LP/MC/CD/CD-DVD. Producer: Ross Robinson, Robert Smith. Recorded At: Los Angeles, California, United States. And I would say that more passion went into the making of this record than all the others combined.

People had remembered The Cure as something great. Then I met (producer) Ross (Robinson) and everything changed. Since the beginning he insisted we must do another Cure album, we must do an album together. And it happened that eighteen months later, after calling to me constantly by telephone and writing piles of letters to me, he came to see me again. When four years ago we (released) Bloodflowers, I was convinced that The Cure had reached its end. It was an epitaph. The person who convinced me (to release another album) was (producer) Ross Robinson. There was a time he insisted that I should make another album because a whole generation was waiting for it from us.

Nice disc with that MTV acoustic show. Sound quality very good considering one show is from 1991 and the other 1981. Only wish that the "Closing Theme" (If Only Tonight We Could Sleep) was the full version and not the shortened broadcast version. "The Blood" acoustic is really good performance - excellent choice for an acoustic set.
