Melvin enjoys the rules, the color wheel, and the hard mechanical design and development. To Melvin, Magic is the Taj Mahal and he loves admiring its blueprints. When I explain that Vorthos and Melvin are on a spectrum, I don't mean to imply that their sensibilities cannot intermix.
The 17-track album features previously released material by artists including Ryuichi Sakamoto (whose solo LP Async was one of our favourite albums of 2017) alongside two new songs recorded by Sufjan Stevens for the film.

The second track on Coldplay’s sixth studio album Ghost Stories, Magic, introduces us to the narrator’s former relationship with a woman he loved in a magical way. Through clever references to the art of stage magic, he describes a very special bond that once existed between the two. The song is not an affirmation of a relationship, it is a song about honoring yourself when a relationship ends.
